COERR Mae Sarieng in Mission for Peace Promotion among Youth and Elderly

COERR promotes Peace among refugees, in particular, the youth, to raise awareness about loving and serving others through home visit and cultural actiities.

On February 13th and 20th, 2016, “home renovation” volunteer in Mae La Oon camp gathered to build toilets in elderly houses, after COERR had surveyed and found elderly’s houses in need of repairs. The activities aim to encourage youth to learn how to make contribution to others.

Later, on February 16th and 17th, training in “Peace and Conflict, Forgiveness and Reconciliation” was organized in Ban Mae La Oon with 20 trainees and in Ban Mae Lama Luang with 22 trainees. The activities aim to promote refugees working for peace program to realize about peace building in daily living and working in their community.

On February 12th and 15th, Cultural Activities were held at COERR’s Social Service Centers in which elderly who were able to walk and join our activities in singing, discussing, sharing experiences, telling stories and showing cultural performance. 37 elderly participated in the cultural activity in Ban Mae La Oon and 64 elderly participating in Ban Mae Lama Luang Camp.
